Guest book for the "Pavilhão do Brasil" at Expo 2015

The Conti Borbone bookbindery, a historic workshop in Milan that specializes in book restoration and binding, has created a leather guest book with gold decorations for the Pavilhão do Brasil at Expo 2015, the international exhibition to be held in Rho - Milan from May 2015.

The guest book, which will collect signatures and messages from visitors to the pavilion, is a work of art that reflects the culture and nature of Brazil, a country rich in biodiversity and creativity. The green leather cover has been finely decorated with gold motifs inspired by Brazil's artistic and architectural traditions. The endpapers were made with hand-marbled paper, a technique that involves creating chromatic and iridescent effects on the paper by dipping it in an aqueous solution. The colors chosen for the relooks are green and red.

The guest book was handed over to the commissioner general of the Brazil pavilion, who thanked the Conti Borbone bindery for their work and expressed his satisfaction with the result. The guest book will be displayed in a showcase at the entrance of the pavilion, where visitors can admire it and leave their testimonies.

I am Angelo Marchesi, a bookbinder following in the footsteps of my family, who owns the Bookbinding Conti Borbone, founded over a hundred years ago. My passion is to preserve and enhance ancient books, restoring them with care and respect.
